As a professional spray tanner, you enjoy making people’s skin glow. Even with your hours of
training and practicing, there are still some risks associated with being a professional
spray tanner. Getting spray tanning insurance provides a financial safety net so you can do
what you love with peace of mind.
Spray tanning insurance protects you and your business from potential liability
claims. These types of claims can include bodily injury, property damage,
allergic reaction to the spray tan chemicals, and more. As a professional
tanner, your coverage should include general liability, professional liability,
products & completed operations, and inland marine coverage (tools and
Beauty & Bodywork Insurance offers a spray tanning insurance policy for only
$96 per year, and a student spray tanning insurance policy for only $67. Please
note if you offer any of the excluded methods listed on our site, you will not
qualify for coverage under these prices.
Although spray tanning is fairly safe, there are a few risks involved. If your
client is allergic to the chemicals you use and sustains a rash, you can be held
responsible for their medical bills. If the spray tan you provide for your
client does not turn out how they want it, i.e. their skin is a different color
than they’d like, they can file a lawsuit against you. For these reasons and
more, you’ll want to make sure you have protection in place.
Yes, you need spray tanning insurance! Because you are working with the human
body, there is always the chance someone might react negatively to your services
or the products you use. These risks are simply a part of being a professional
spray tanner, which is why it’s important to protect your assets by purchasing
face and body insurance. On the other hand, if a client trips on any of your
equipment, you can also be held liable for any injuries that took place on your
property. Without insurance coverage, you may be responsible for paying
thousands of dollars out of your pocket.
Airbrush spray tanning, HVLP spray tanning, and LVLP tanning are all included in
a BBI spray tanning insurance policy. Although those methods are covered, keep
in mind that sun tan beds or sun tan booths are not included in a BBI policy.
i. Please note these are brief definitions of coverage. Your policy may be more restrictive
in its language. Refer to the actual policy for a complete description of coverages and
exclusions. If you would like to see a sample policy, please contact us.
