FAQs About Spa Insurance

Spa insurance is designed for spa owners who have employees, rent out rooms or stations, or contract independent technicians. If this doesn’t sound like you, you may need our individual professional insurance policy instead. Coverage for independent or self-employed service providers starts at $9.99 a month. Learn more.
Spa insurance typically covers third-party liability claims related to your business — whether they involve you or your technicians. This includes accidental client injuries, allergic reactions, personal (non-physical) injuries, and real or perceived professional mistakes. It can also cover your business personal property with our optional tools and supplies coverage in case of theft or damage.

Yes, it does! With BBI’s spa insurance, as long as the station is covered under your policy, any independent contractor or employee who works at it is also covered.

If you rent a booth or suite at a spa, you need liability insurance because you operate your own business. You’re liable for the services you provide and the clients in your care. Rather than spa owner insurance, an individual practitioner policy is a better fit for you. Find coverage based on your work: Covered Modalities.

A day spa offers non-medical aesthetic and wellness services (facials, waxing, massage, body treatments). A medical spa involves licensed medical professionals and medical-grade treatments (injectables, laser procedures, etc.). BBI covers both — for medical spas, visit our Medical Spa Insurance page.
Yes, once you purchase your BBI policy online, you can download your certificate of insurance immediately through your user dashboard.

Yes, BBI is built for multi-station spa operations (up to 10). One policy can cover your entire spa for general and professional liability, including your entire team, through station-based pricing.
